Melvin L. Fox, 83, of Templeton, PA, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Grey's Colonial Acres.

He was born May 29, 1933 in Kittanning, PA, the son of Donald and Chrissie (Sloniger) Fox.

Melvin was a lifelong resident of Templeton and honorably served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was formerly employed at Drexel Refractory for 20 years and retired as a custodian for the Armstrong School District, where he worked for over 25 years. Melvin was a member of Templeton Church of God and enjoyed attending the church's Senior Life luncheons. Hunting was one of his passions and he loved going to camp in Tionesta with his wife, Laura. He also found joy in sitting on his daughter's porch drinking coffee, in addition to spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Melvin will be best remembered for his kind heart and willingness to help others.

His memory will be cherished by his loving wife of 60 years, Laura J. (Schaub) Fox, whom he married March 21, 1956; sons, Scott B. Fox and companion, Kim, of Ford City, and Jeffrey J. Fox, of West Kittanning; daughter, Tammy L. Moore and husband, Clyde, of Templeton; grandchildren, Amanda Strauser and husband Anthony, Ashley Moore, Chelsea Fox and Kaylee Fox; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Haylee and Zayne Strauser; brother, Richard D. "Dale" Fox, Sr. and wife, Mary Jane, and Charles R. Fox and wife, Esther, all of Templeton; brothers-in-law, Paul Bish and Raymond "Pete" Schaub, both of Kittanning; sister-in-law, Glendora "Lindy" Perpich, of Orlando, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, JoAnn Bish, who died November 30, 2016, and daughter-in-law, Amy (Neiswonger) Fox, who died January 20, 2016.

Relatives and friends may visit from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at the Bauer Funeral Home, 515 N McKean St., Kittanning, PA.

Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Molgaard officiating, where military honors will be presented by the American Legion Honor Guard.

Burial will be in Cochran Cemetery, Templeton, PA.
