Arlene Mae Adams

Arlene Mae Adams, 89, of Bela, PA, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013, at her daughter's home surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 15, 1924 in Toby Twp., Clarion Co., the daughter of George and Bertha (Crispen) Fair.

Arlene lived in the area all her life and attended Independence Elementary School and Union High School of Rimersburg. She was the last member of Wesleyan Methodist Church of Dutch Hill. Arlene was employed with the Clarview Nursing Home for 10 years working in both the kitchen and as a nurse's aide.

In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Arlene enjoyed crocheting, crafts, reading and working in her flower beds. She was tireless by nature, and knew the value of hard work as she took in laundry and performed spring cleaning for her neighbors before starting her day at the nursing home. Arlene was an accomplished cook and baker, who could warm any heart with her chicken and noodles and German chocolate cake. She will be forever remembered in the hearts of those she touched during her lifetime.

She will be deeply missed by her sons, Daniel R. Adams and wife, Lola, of West Point, VA, Dennis R. Adams and wife, Anne, of Knox, PA; daughters, D. Elaine Walker, of Greenville, PA, and Marjorie "Margie" L. Custer and husband, Terry, of Parker, PA; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, 9 step great-grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter expected in August.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 53 years, Richard E. Adams, who passed away July 18, 1996; brother, Ford L. Fair; sister, Louise O. Eshbaugh; and great-grandchild, Samuel Richard Adams.

Relatives and friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 758 Main Street, Rimersburg, PA. Additional visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of funeral services at 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the funeral home with the Rev. Marcus Letonek officiating.

Burial will follow at Cedarview Memorial Park, Strattanville, PA.

Memorial contributions may be made in Arlene's honor to the Clarion Forest VNA Hospice, 271 Perkins Road, Clarion, PA 16214.
