Norman Robert Seybert

Norman Robert "Norm" Seybert, 92, of Rimersburg, PA, passed away Monday, July 8, 2013 at Clarion Hospital.

He was born in Sarah Furnace, Clarion Co., PA on February 4, 1921, the son of Bowman Bernard Seybert and Mary Elizabeth (Scott) Seybert.

Norm spent his younger years in the area and attended Conneration Elementary School and Rimersburg High School. His mining career began at age 16 when he started working with his father in 1937 at the Kissinger Mill mine. Norm earned a mining energy degree from Penn State University and then worked as a federal mine inspector. He was a member of the Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church and also held memberships with the Clarion Lodge No. 277 F&AM, Coudersport Consistory, Jaffa Shrine in Altoona and United Mine Workers Association. Norm will be remembered for his kindness to others and for the love he had for his family.

He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Norma J. Buzard and husband, Carl, of Rimersburg, Doris M. Theuret, of Rimersburg, and Kathleen M. Wilshire and husband, James, of Summerville; grandchildren, Kristin Shick and husband, John, Robert Buzard, Thomas Theuret and wife, Cynthia, Jason Theuret and wife, Tonya, Ann Ramsey, and Jami Burgoyne and husband, Josh; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Norm was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 67 years, Genevieve Louise (Hamilton) Seybert; daughters, Evelyn Louise Seybert and Carol Anne Seybert; two grandsons; great-granddaughter, Rachel Diane Shick; brothers, George, Wilbur, Edwin, Blair and Bowman Seybert; sisters, Goldie Eshbaugh, Lefonda Cooper, Leona Brocious, Edna Stockdill, Velma Edinger and Esther Lowers; and son-in-law, Edward Theuret.

Family and friends may visit from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home, 758 Main Street, Rimersburg, PA, where a Masonic service will be held at 7 PM.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church, State Route 861, Rimersburg, with the Rev. Mark Deeter officiating.

Burial will be in Bradys Bend Cemetery, East Brady, PA.
