Opal DeRose Guntrum

Opal DeRose Guntrum, 79, of McKeesport, PA, formerly of Rimersburg, PA, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at her residence.

She was born January 16, 1934 in Chickasaw, Armstrong Co., PA to Arthur William Williams and Edna Kathryn (Austin) Williams.

Opal was a lifelong resident of the area and devoted her life to caring for her family. She attended Carwick Wesleyan Church and was a member of the Phoebe Rebekah Lodge of Rimersburg. In her spare time, Opal enjoyed working puzzles and crocheting. She was also known for being an avid reader and for her gift of baking. Family was the driving force in her life and they will always remember the deep love she had for them.

Her memory will be cherished by her sons, William "Butch" C. A. Guntrum and wife, Linda, of Chicora, and K. Michael Guntrum and wife, Teri, of McKeesport; daughters, Barbara Altman and husband, Bob, of Punxsutawney, and Jody Kriebel and husband, Ken, of Sligo; grandchildren, Mandie Aughton, Brittany Kriebel, Melissa Guntrum, Curtis Guntrum, Heather Bellomo, Bobby Altman, Paul Lutz and Erika Gross; brothers, Ronald Williams and wife, Donna, of Fairmount City, and William Williams, of Rimer; and sisters, Joyce Wolfe, of Templeton, and Janice Aughton, of Callensburg.

Opal was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Charles Guntrum; and infant daughter, Melonie Dawn Guntrum.

At the family's request, services will be private.

Interment will be in Rimersburg Cemetery.
