Anna M. Helmick

Anna M. Helmick, age 95, of Dayton, PA, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at her daughter's home in White Haven, PA.

She was born October 20, 1917, in Wayne Twp., to Albert and Anna Susanna (Wall) Rupp.

Anna was a lifetime resident of Wayne Twp. and attended Jerusalem Lutheran Church. She loved to spend her time caring for her husband and children. Keeping up with her home brought her joy, as did spending time in the garden. Her family will miss her wonderful cooking, especially her ring-neck pheasant and waffles. She also had a tender heart for animals. She will be best remembered for her hard work.

She is survived by her sons, James E. Helmick and wife Sue of Carencro, LA, and Gary D. Helmick and wife Chiko of Rising Sun, OH; daughter Carol A. Helmick of White Haven, PA; grandchildren Kim Shipman, James Helmick and wife Linda, David Helmick and wife Lisa, Robert Helmick and wife Kim, and Teresa Helmick; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Anna was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Harold E. Helmick, who died January 20, 2011; parents; brothers George Rupp, Arthur Rupp, Ross Rupp, and Wallace Rupp; sisters Harriet Good, Cora Silvis, and Pearl Bailey; and granddaughter Connie Jo. Helmick.

Family and friends will be received for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June, 8, 2013 at 1 PM at Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Angus Road, New Bethlehem, PA, with Messenger Ralph Kilgore officiating.

Memorial donations may be made in Anna's name to any Hospice Organization.
