Christopher Patrick Rainey

Christopher Patrick Rainey, age 28, of New Bethlehem, PA, formerly of Dayton, PA passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 at his residence.

He was born May 16, 1984 in Indiana, PA, the son of Wilbur Rainey, Jr. and Sharon (Brownlee) Rainey.

Chris lived in the Dayton area all of his life and graduated from Lenape VoTech in 2002. He attended the Carpenter's Apprentice Program and worked as a Journeyman Carpenter in the heavy highway construction industry, belonging to the Local 2274 Carpenter's Union. Chris was a true outdoorsman and was happiest when outside in the woods. He was a member of the NuMine Sportsman's Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding four-wheelers and golfing with his friends. Family and friends were important to him, and he especially cherished the time spent with the love of his life, his fiancee, Jessica. Chris also had a special place in his heart for his dogs, Charlie and Brandy. Those who knew him will always remember his curly smile and his wise-cracking sense of humor.

He will be remembered with love by his parents, Wilbur "Bill" and Sharon (Brownlee) Rainey, Jr., of Dayton, PA; brothers, W. Shaun Rainey and wife, Beth, of Huntley, IL and Chad Rainey and wife Melissa, of Dayton, PA; nieces, Madeline and Taryn, of Huntley, IL; paternal grandfather, Wilbur Rainey, of Dayton, PA; fiancee, Jessica George, of New Bethlehem; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Geraldine Rainey, and maternal grandparents, Harvey and Mary Brownlee.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 and from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the Bauer-Bly Funeral Home, 125 East Main Street, Dayton, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Friday, March 15, 2013 at the funeral home, with the Rev. John A. Milliron officiating.

Burial will be in Emory Chapel Cemetery, Dayton, Pennsylvania.
