Earl Ernest Blystone

Earl Ernest Blystone, 88, of Summerville, SC, formerly of DuBois, PA and Homosassa Springs, FL, died Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Life Care Center of Charleston, SC.

He was born June 17, 1928 in Dayton, PA, the son of James J. and Margaret (Fisher) Blystone.

Earl was a former resident of DuBois, PA and Homosassa Springs, FL, but lived in Summerville, SC since 2000. He was a member of the Garfield Lodge #559 in DuBois and Old Fort Baptist Church in Summerville. Earl worked as a nuclear planning coordinator for Florida Power Corporation and also as a bus driver for Edwards Lake to Sea Bus Company. He loved mechanics and working with old engines. Earl was also a talented wood crafter and made many beautiful wood pieces throughout his life. He enjoyed cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles, and will be best remembered for having to use two feet on one side to turn over his Harley, earning him the nickname "Rusty."

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Mary Ellen (Camp) Blystone, whom he married February 14, 1948; daughters, Karen E. Certo, of Pittsburgh, and Donna J. Rook, of Summerville, SC; grandchildren, Carrie Certo, Melanie Certo Gavin, and Diane Certo, all of Pittsburgh, and Anna Rook, of Summerville, SC; great-grandchildren, Aubin and Caydin Kotewicz, and Keane and Donovan Gavin; sisters, Lucille Downing, of Stigler, OK, Judy Graves, of Brooksville, FL, Lois Morton, of Homosassa Springs, FL, and Dorothy Peterson, of Homosassa Springs, FL; aunt, Alma (Fisher) Condron, of Ford City; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and beloved dog, Gigit.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elmer Blystone and Robert Wagner; and sister, Dorothy Arnold.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at the Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, Inc., 238 S. Main Street, Elderton, PA. A Masonic Service will be held at 7:30 PM Sunday. All friends and family are invited.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Monday, November 14, 2016 at the funeral home with Rev. Drew Himes officiating.

Burial will be in Atwood Cemetery, Atwood, PA.
