Sheryl "Fergie" Ferguson

Sheryl B. "Fergie" Ferguson, 84, of Sligo, PA passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016, at Clarview Nursing Home.

He was born June 29, 1932 in Eau Claire, PA, the son of Robert Lee Ferguson and LaVera B. (Seelabaugh) Ferguson.

Fergie was a resident of Clarion County since 1978 and worked as a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry. He was a member of the New Athens Church of God of Prophecy. Fergie enjoyed working on his farm and playing horseshoes in his spare time. He also loved pulling draft horses and worked with many teams of horses throughout his lifetime. Fergie will be best remembered for his caring personality and being a loving father and grandfather.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Ruth L. (Conner) Ferguson, whom he married November 23, 1986; sons, Jeffrey Ferguson and wife, M. Kyong, of Washington, Greg Ferguson and wife, Whitney, of Vernal, UT; daughters, Dianne Bevel and husband, Dave, of Kentucky, Cheryl Gray and husband, David, of Cochranton, Holly Kay McKinney, of Hermitage, and Leslie Ferguson, of Harrisburg; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; step-sons, William Beckstine and wife, Susan, of Idaho, Clinton Kifer and friend, Laurie, of Parker, and Michael Kifer and wife, Susie, of Parker; step-daughters, Crystal Wolfgong and husband, Jeff, of Parker, and Dixie Morris and husband, Jim, of Sligo; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ruth Felix, of Forestville, PA, and Betty Barnhart, Faye Pompa and Peggy MaGee, all of Grove City.

Fergie was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Ester Mae Ferguson; son, Michael Ferguson; brother, Ray Ferguson; and sister, Alma Crisman.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home, 758 Main Street, Rimersburg.

At the family's request, funeral services will be private.

Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Rimersburg, Pennsylvania.
