Donald D. McCoy

Donald D. "Don" McCoy, 62, of Ford City, PA, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 22, 2016, at St. Margaret's Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born in Kittanning on February 20, 1954, to Vernon Ray McCoy and Dorothy Shick Zemba.

Don attended Lenape Technical School and graduated from Ford City High School in 1972. His love for music made him a wonderful guitar player and he also enjoyed writing songs. He was a devout Christian who attended the New Life Center Assembly of God Church in Ford City where he was a worship leader. Some of his favorite things to do were trout fishing, taking long Sunday drives, gardening, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates. Don was an amusement park enthusiast and enjoyed roller coaster rides with his family.

He will be truly missed by his three daughters, Heather Smail and husband, Christopher of Ford City, Abby Wilcox and husband, Adam of Altoona, and Grace Fiscus and husband, Alex of Ford City; seven grandchildren, Noah and Makenzie Smail, and Trinity, Christian, Jeremiah, Serenity, and Selah Wilcox; two brothers, Dennis R. McCoy and wife, Shirley of Ford City, and Michael D. Zemba, Jr. and wife, Angeline of Boiling Springs; and three sisters, Janice D. Dilick and husband, Nicholas of Vandergrift, Michele D. Tullai and husband, Andrew of Jefferson Hills; and Melinda D. Ion and husband, Delton of Ford City.

He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Ray McCoy; his mother, Dorothy Shick Zemba and step-father, Michael D. Zemba; twin brother, Ronald R. McCoy; and a sister, Betsy A. Benemann.

Relatives and friends may visit from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at the Bauer Funeral Home, 515 N McKean St., Kittanning, PA.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Thursday, May 26, 2016, at the New Life Center Assembly of God, 412 Ninth Street, Ford City, PA 16226, with the Rev. Charles King officiating.

Burial will follow in Cochran Cemetery, Templeton, PA.
