"Fot" Clinton Foster Bowser, Jr., 87, of Rimersburg, PA, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Huey, PA on December 9, 1927, the son of Clinton M. and Floda M. (Bobberts) Bowser.

Fot lived in Rimersburg for the last 63 years and honorably served in the US Army during World War II. He worked at various coal companies for over 40 years in the positions of dozer operator, mine boss and superintendent. Fot was a 32nd degree Mason and belonged to St. Petersburg Lodge since 1958 and the Coudersport Consistory. He was also a member of New Athens Church of God of Prophecy, Rimersburg VFW Post #7132 and American Legion Post #454, and was a former member of the Rimersburg Fire Company.

Fot loved life and was happiest when with his children and grandchildren, especially while playing in the swimming pool. He spent much of his time in his shop repairing motors or anything he could get his hands on. Hunting, using his backhoe and working in the mines were some of his favorite activities. Fot will be best remembered for his appetite for food and life, wonderful sense of humor and gift of storytelling.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Geraldine Fern (Best) Bowser, whom he married February 28, 1948; son, Gary L. Bowser and wife, Nancy, of East Brady; daughters, Deborah L. Gorsuch and companion, Herb Vogle, and Vicki A. Mortimer and husband, Eric, all of Rimersburg; grandchildren, Toni L. Beabout, Shannon R. Myers, Jonna R. Gorsuch, Robert C. Gorsuch, Jason E. Mortimer, Luke C. Mortimer, Cody D. Mortimer, Amy Rebecca Bowser, and Ann Renee Parro; great-grandchildren, Jonathon Best, Cassandra Best, Colby G. Beabout, Mekah Gorsuch, Victoria Moody, Mackenzie Mortimer, Caroline Mortimer, Olivia Mortimer, Jackson Mortimer, and Bryce Parro; brother, Junior Bowser, of Kittanning; sisters, Garnet VanDyke, of Boyers, and Janet Fair, of Parker; and sisters-in-law, Kate Bowser, of Huey, and Eunice Bowser, of Rimersburg.

Fot was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Henry, Dewey and Ernie Bowser; and sisters, Geraldine George and Jennie Bowser.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 758 Main St., Rimersburg, where a Masonic service presented by the St. Petersburg Lodge will take place at 6 PM.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Colin Coch officiating.

Burial will be in Rimersburg Cemetery, Rimersburg, Pennsylvania, where military services will be presented by American Legion Honor Guard Post 454 and VFW Post 7132.
