Eugene Amos Sheasley

Eugene Amos Sheasley, 87, of Ford City, died peacefully at home on July 22, 2015. Eugene was born on May 28, 1928 in Ford Cliff, the son of the late Albert Charles Sheasley and Moss Viola Sheasley. He and Lois Mae Sheasley (Beck) were married on June 16, 1948.

He is survived by his wife; a son, David Sheasley, and his wife, Shirley; a daughter, Patricia McKinley, and her husband, Daniel; a granddaughter, Christine Whiteman (Sheasley), and her husband, Lance, and their daughters, Olivia and Sophia; and a grandson, Kevin Sheasley, and his wife, Lori, and their children, Bryn and Barrett. Eugene is also survived by brothers, William and Richard, and sisters, Lillian Wachter, Ruth Bowser, Daisy Edwards and Linda Boyer. In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by sisters, Betty Frerotte and Marjorie Bureau, and brother, Albert (Jim).

Eugene was a devoted husband and father, a skillful woodworker, a faithful Christian and a long-time member of United Rockville Lutheran Church. Eugene worked for PPG as a patternmaker, retiring in 1991. Eugene was a member and Past Master of the Armstrong Lodge No. 239 F.& A.M. in Freeport, he was a 33rd degree Mason in the Scottish Rite Valley of New Castle and was a member and past presiding officer of many York Rite Masonic bodies.

Visitation will be Friday, July 24 from 2:00 until 4:00 and again from 7:00 until 9:00 at the Bauer Funeral Home in Kittanning, with a Masonic funeral service at 7:00. Additional visitation will be held Saturday, July 25 at United Rockville Lutheran Church located at 720 State Route 2020, Ford City from 10:00 until the time of the Service for the Burial of the Dead at 11:00 with the Rev. Jack A. Delk presiding. Burial will follow at United Rockville Lutheran Cemetery.
