Daniel C. Brown, 89, of Kittanning, PA passed away Monday, June 22, 2015 at ACMH Hospital.

He was born January 26, 1926 in Boyer, PA, the son of Daniel and Florence Ellen (Selfridge) Brown.

Daniel lived in Kittanning all of his life and honorably served with the US Army in Germany during World War II. He worked as a machinist, at H. E. Brocious and Pullman Standard, and also worked as a machinist on the side. Daniel was a lifetime member of the Armstrong Hunting and Fishing Club and one of the oldest living members of Kittanning Hose Company #1. Hunting, fishing and gardening were his favorite pastimes, and he also enjoyed shopping at St. Vincent DePaul in Kittanning to see what treasures he could find. Daniel will be greatly missed by those who knew him and will be remembered for his extensive knowledge of Kittanning's history.

He will be greatly missed by his son, Daniel O. Brown and wife, Rosalie, of Worthington; sister, Mary June McCanna and Jim Ewing, of Ford Cliff; and several nieces and nephews.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Blanche G. Brown, who died January 23, 2002; and brother, Ora Maxwell Brown, who died in 1988.

Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning, where a Hose Company #1 memorial service will be held at 7 PM.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Thursday, June 25, 2015, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kathleen M. Davis and Rev. John Foester co-officiating.

Burial will be in Kittanning Cemetery, Kittanning, PA.
