Steven E. Schmidt

Steven E. Schmidt, age 33, of Punxsutawney, formerly of Elderton, PA, died Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.

His life began in Greensburg, PA where he was born on the 19th of May 1979, to Robert E. and Debra (Witters) Schmidt.

Steven attended Elderton High School and graduated from Lenape-Vo Tech in 1998. He worked for Force Inc., where he drove truck. Steven enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, camping at Milton Loop and night fishing. He loved his red mustang and would race it at Keystone. He will remembered by his family for being a great dad and a loving husband with a hug like a big teddy bear.

His memory will be carried on with love by his wife, Paula who he married on June 21, 2004, father, Robert E. Schmidt of NC; daughters, Hailey, Jocelyn and Shelby Schmidt, at home; brothers, Robert Schmidt of NC, Scott Schmidt of Jeanette and Jay Schmidt and wife Donna of NC; sisters, Melissa Thorpe and husband Thomas of GA and Renee Schmidt of Jeanette; maternal grandfather, Bobby E. Witters of Black Lick and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, Inc., 238 S. Main Street Elderton, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joyce Dix-Weiers officiating.

Burial will be in Elderton Cemetery, Elderton, PA.

Memorial contributions may be made in Steven's honor to his family to help with raising his girls.
