Lois J. Kammerdiener

Lois J. Kammerdiener, age 85, of Kittanning, PA, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 at the Armstrong County Health Center.

She was born on May 28, 1926, in Franklin, PA, to William and Katherine (Kiskadden) Thompson.

Lois was a graduate of Butler High School and was employed as a presser for the former Big River Manufacturing Company of Kittanning for over 20 years until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Kittanning and enjoyed being an active participant in the Von Bora Women's Organization. Lois loved meeting new people and was very social; she was known as "Gabby" to her friends because in high school she was voted "Most Talkative". Her family and friends will always remember her friendly and outgoing personality.

She is survived by her son, Michael A. Kammerdiener and wife, Sandy, of New Florence, PA; daughters, Pamela Wingard, of Kittanning, and Patricia Martin, of Dayton, PA; grandchildren, David Wingard and wife, Dana, Michael Heddinger and wife, Rhonda, Kimberly Alese and husband, Joseph, John Heddinger and companion, Keisha, Matthew Kammerdiener and wife, Sidney, and Stacey Kammerdiener; 10 great-grandchildren; and brother, Gary Thompson and wife, Donna, of Midland, PA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 53 years, Merle E. Kammerdiener, who died March 18, 1999; grandson, Joby Wingard; brothers, William and Paul Thompson; and sister, Glennis Gibson.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 218 N. Jefferson St., Kittanning with the Rev. Carl Johnson officiating.

Interment will follow at Kittanning Cemetery, Rayburn Twp., Armstrong Co.
